Intelligent thermal analytics for extreme environments
“We see thermal monitoring becoming one of the most important health and safety measures for industries where people are working in exceptionally hot conditions. Our vision is to set the global standard, ensuring that people can work and perform safely, no matter how extreme the conditions,” says Harri Lehti, CEO of HTM°Solutions.
HTM°Solutions has developed a pioneering intelligent thermal analytics technology that enables professionals to monitor and manage human thermal stress in real time.
The Human Thermal Model, originally developed at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and refined through millions of real-life data points, is scientifically validated and documented in a doctoral dissertation. It assesses physiological parameters such as body core temperature, sweat rate, and thermal strain. The solution delivers clinically reliable insights that help individuals and teams anticipate risks, prevent incidents, and optimize recovery and performance even in the toughest environments.
Seamless integration with trusted devices
HTM°Solutions’ technology is already compatible with widely used wearable devices, including Garmin Health and Movesense. These hardware partnerships ensure seamless integration and accurate monitoring through trusted devices relied on by professionals worldwide.
Proven in real-world conditions
HTM°Solutions is expanding its global footprint with pilots and partnerships that validate the technology in diverse sectors and environments. Early collaborations span Europe, Australia, and Asia ranging from training and rescue services to mining and elite sports.
In Europe, the technology is being applied in demanding training and education environments where future emergency and safety professionals prepare to work in extreme conditions. Real-time monitoring during exercises improves both safety and learning outcomes, making thermal safety an integral part of professional training and skills development.
In Portugal, a partnership with Tecniquitel integrates thermal analytics into the daily work of rescue and safety professionals — whether in emergency missions, training programs, or working in hot environments. The collaboration also opens doors to broader European markets and highlights how thermal safety is becoming a central theme in occupational well-being and safety.
In the Asia-Pacific region, HTM°Solutions is addressing one of the world’s toughest industrial environments: mining. Measurements in Australia have provided employers with data to protect workers and optimize performance, while local partners Noa Tech and Waves Group support efficient deployment in the region.
HTM°Solutions is also working with KIHU – the Finnish Institute of High Performance Sport to test the solution with endurance athletes. These pilots demonstrate how the technology supports performance and recovery in elite sports, where even small variations in thermal stress can make a decisive difference.
“Thermal safety is a universal challenge that touches sectors from rescue services to mining, sports, and defense. Our technology is powerful because it is proven in practice across continents and sectors. Together, these collaborations help ensure that HTM°Solutions delivers reliable value in the most demanding conditions worldwide,” says Lehti.
Leading the way in thermal health and safety
HTM°Solutions is at the forefront of addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time: protecting people from the risks of extreme heat.
“We are inviting partners, organizations, and professionals to join us in shaping the future of thermal safety. Together, we can ensure that extraordinary people working in exceptional conditions are not just surviving, but mastering them,” says Lehti.
